Dogs

Because of an unfortunate number of accidents on the carpet, dogs are allowed on approval. Approval will be limited to dogs I know personally.

Signups
Please try to anticipate, even if only a few days or hours in advance, when you will not be using your bed so that others can offer it to their guests. As soon as you make other plans for a weekend, take a moment and go to this website and mark an 'o' down for those nights.

Guests and Waiting List
When you want to bring guests start by going to the site and looking for an "O" to indicate an empty bed. If you find one, ask the owner if you can use it and then go back to the site and put your initials under that bed. If you can't find an empty bed send an e-mail, either to an individual or to the group, soliciting empty bed space. If there is no response make a notation on the website that you are looking for a bed. This will put you first in line when one becomes available. It is important that you make a notation on the web page so that everyone knows you are looking. You should actively seek guest space by sending out an email or asking specific people about their plans but regardless of the level of effort you put into looking for a space, as space opens up it should be given to the waiting list in order. Obviously if someone is already looking for space for a given night the next person in line should note that they are 2nd in line.

All guests pay fees.
$25/pp/night.
Kids under 18 are free although if there aren't enough beds for adults, kids should sleep on the floor or pay the fee.

Guests must be accompanied be their host. This means you arrive with or before your guests and your guests leave with or before you. Guests should never shut down the cabin. Sometimes you may be able to convince another member to host your guests but the idea here is that you don't just tell friends they can use the cabin. The only exceptions to the rule of hosting guests are certain cabin alumni and, very occasionally, friends of mine who I know and trust. (This is the privilege of ownership.)

Sleeping in the living room is strongly discouraged. It's inconvenient for anyone staying up late or getting up early and not much fun for the sleeper.

Parking
We can park 5 - 7 cars but it's snug. Be sure to leave your keys in the key box by the front door so that your car can be moved if necessary. Be sure your guests do too. Or make a copy of your key and leave it there for the winter.

Plow Service
Our plow service is Cascade Snow Removal. They want us to watch out for them and to signal that we've seen them when they drive up. It is very important to listen for them in the morning. They will then go off and plow another driveway while we move our cars out so they can plow ours.

Fireplace
The fireplace really cranks but you do need to really tend it for the first 1/2 hour or so, or it will go out. Once it is hot (not before) turn the fan to auto. The switch is in the lower right corner.

If you feel the need to split kindling please do so in the driveway or in front of the workroom door. DO NOT EVER CHOP FIREWOOD ON THE STONE HEARTH!!! Or on the floor of the workroom!

Garbage
Garbage pickup is Monday morning.

Recycling is collected in the bin next to the fridge and goes altogether into the blue bags.

Phone
There is unlimited US calling from the land line.

Cell Service
There is a microcell for users of AT&T wireless. Your number needs to be programmed in. I can do this.

Skis
Please try not to leave skis in the entry hall. Leave them outside overnight, or in the workroom, or in your room.

Please don't use other peoples stuff without asking them first and make sure your guests understand this too.
