We played our first game of the spring season U6 Vikings Micros-Soccer
against the FireBalls on Fields 7&8 at 1PM on Little Rec. On
Field 7 were (with Coach Fabrice): Louie, Gregory, JJ, The Camster,
Catriona. Score: 7-2 Goals by: (Louie=3, Greg=3). On Field 8 were (with
Coach Tom): Margaux, Paul, Ariel, Joe, Graham. Score: 8-2. Goals: (Joe=4,Mgx=3,
FireBalls=1or2 for us; Fireballs = 2 for themselves). At start of
game, Mgx scored fairly quickly. Then Fireballs for us. Mgx
again. Joe. Mgx. Joe. Halftime. Snack of cookies and juice provided
by Marcon.
Harder second half. Lots of "hands" by opposition; and falling
on ball. Joe (the gentle giant) should have had 1st goal of half,
but that was kept out of goal by "hands". (Boo!!) Then good goal
by Joe then 1 by them; Joe; Fireballs. Tom did not referee, but coached
from side, and took the swell photos that appear below. A Fireballs'
dad/coach refereed and did ok, except for not calling all the instances
of "hands". Joe got hit by one of fireballs on face, but ok. Mike
Gilleran did a brilliant job as timekeeping and player substitution.
Fabrice did it all on field 8 - ref; player substitute.
Other comments: we need to keep people off field - ice cream vendor;
young prince william; parents taking photos! This is serious!!!
